Relaxing Vacations

Take a Relaxing Vacation

Have you been on a vacation lately? If you have not, it may be time to go on one. Going on vacation is really good for your health.

When finances get tight, the first thing we do is stop taking vacations. That is understandable since vacations for a family cost a lot of money. But, we also are sacrificing the time that helps us relax from the stresses of our job.

Everyone needs a break from work. All work and no play makes Jack and Jill very ill. Stress from work has an impact on every area of our lives. People who “take their work home with them” never stop stressing. Their families get to share in that stress when it spills over into their lives.

If the stress is at home, then it seems to never end. Stay at home moms and people who work at home have no way to get away from work or family responsibilities. The escape route leads to the same place where they work. It seems like a win-win to work at home but it can also become a prison when there is nowhere to run to for a break. [Read more...]

It’s About Time For A Rocky Mountain National Park Vacation

By Caitlin Moore

Sitting at a desk for too long leads to stiff muscles. Indoor air is stale and can be germ-ridden. Traffic jams have a way of inspiring an unparalleled level of frustration. These unfortunate truths are side effects of daily life, but that doesn’t mean that we should all just give up and accept a dull and uninspiring existence. The time has come to take abreathing.

Rocky Mountain National Park is just the right setting for a rewarding experience with the ones you love. In this sprawling gem within the heart of Colorado, there are activities, sights and thrills to spare. Start by wrapping your brain around this fact: there are 355 miles of hiking trails up for exploration, ranging from flat and accessible for beginners to far more challenging. If this doesn’t cure the problem of office doldrums and atrophied muscles due to cubicles, nothing will. Pack a picnic lunch, some bottled water and a light jacket just in case of high-altitude showers and you’ll be well prepared for a day of fresh air and physical rejuvenation.

Since 1915, this park has been enchanting visitors with its endless opportunities for discovery. Though always a struggle to maintain a large natural habitat, over the years Rocky Mountain National Park has been well-preserved. The majestic peaks overlook valleys and streams that will sharpen your senses; it might be a shock to take in so much pristine scenery all at once when you’re used to a whole other world.

Things to Do On a Smokey Mountains Vacation

By Aaron Leslie

Nowhere in the country matches the magnificent natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Hundreds of miles of hiker trails, diverse wildlife, and unspoiled vistas make this one of the most relaxing and enriching sites in the world.

Just because you spend the day enjoying the wilderness doesn’t mean you want to squat around a campfire and sleep in a tent. After a long day of hiking and enjoying nature, you might want a soak in the hot tub, play a game of pool, or watch a DVD. Smokey Mountain cabin rentals give you the perfect balance of access to nature and civilized amenities.

Breathtaking Scenery

Whether you are coming from a verdant rural area or a dense urban center where the only trees are planted in pots, you can find outdoor activities right for you.

Hiking is a popular choice. You can find trails from easy ambles over gentle ground to difficult multi-day adventures that challenge even the experienced and athletic hiker. You get up close to the local flora and fauna and see landscapes that you can’t imagine.

If walking isn’t your thing, there are many trails for horses or bikes as well as a variety of automobile tours. Stop at one of the many picnic areas or find an undiscovered spot and enjoy a meal in a field of wildflowers.

The area abounds with waterways. Try whitewater rafting or gently tube down the rivers and streams. Fishing enthusiasts from all over the country come here to catch trout, bass, and other fish in over 500 miles of fishable streams.

Luxurious Comfort

Many visitors to the area like the idea of roughing it, but that’s not everyone’s idea of vacation. After an exciting day out among nature, some people want to be pampered and many cabin rentals can provide that.

Large cabins let everyone claim their own space. No matter how close you are, everyone needs privacy and that’s hard to find in the little one-room huts that pass for cabins in some places. Renting a cabin with several rooms and bathrooms lets everyone choose their own method of relaxation.

Not only do many cabins have simple bathtubs, many have in-room Jacuzzis and hot tubs. Or opt for access to clean and heated swimming pools and go for a luxurious and healthy dip. Other common amenities include laundry, full kitchens, and of course romantic fireplaces.

Endless Attractions

Although the Smokey Mountains plentiful with natural attractions, it has more than its share of man-made ones as well.

There are plenty of shops from local specialty shops to big outlet superstores. Restaurants cover every type of cuisine. Entertainment abounds and is more family-friendly than in many other popular travel destinations. There are cabin rentals in this region to cover every taste in vacation so treat yourself to a visit to this breathtaking area of the country on your next vacation.

The Daylesford Experience

By Doug Meijer

It is as if someone ordered the perfect getaway destination to be dropped within an hour and a half of Melbourne. With beautiful scenery, excellent accommodation, mineral springs and a passion for cuisine, the Daylesford Experience has it all.

Daylesford and neighbouring town Hepburn, have been popular destinations for Victorians since the Victorian era. Many people travelled there to ‘take the waters’, benefiting from the natural mineral waters of the area. The town still reflects the character of the early European settlers, Italian and Swiss miners as well as early Scottish farmers.

The town has a unique beauty, with rolling hills, tree lined streets, deep blue lakes providing a backdrop for quaint Victorian miners cottages and magnificent bluestone churches. Each season brings out a different perspective of the town. One of the most popular times to visit is in the Autumn, when the trees seem to burst in to flame, with the brilliant hues of crimson and gold framing the wide streets and charming buildings. Winter is also a very popular time for weekend escapes, when people flock to the day spas and snuggle up to warming winter fires. Summer time also has it’s own magic, with balmy days and warm nights making it perfect for lover strolls and alfresco dining. In Spring, the town is vibrant with blooms and birdsong, the clear skies and brilliant sunshine make it an idyllic spot for a romantic weekend away. [Read more...]
